First of all, I'd forgotten all about these but I have two invite codes for Dreamwidth accounts. If anyone out there still doesn't have one (or even if someone on my flist has a friend who'd like one) let me know and I will provide.

In other news . . . I did something to my back the other day. I have no idea what, but now I'm stuck with this crappy lower back pain and I missed a night of work (thank goodness for paid sick time). It's mostly just annoying - I can still walk and move around but it HURTS like heck. Because I'm a nurse, I'm allowed to have injectible forms of medications that work faster and better than their pill-form equivalents. I was given some ketorolac (similar in nature to ibuprofen except stronger) that can be given IM (intramuscularly).
Now, probably every day I give somebody an IM injection of something. People tell me often that they didn't even feel it. I rarely bruise anyone unless they're taking a ton of anticoagulants. So, I figure, piece of cake, right? Well, there I stood with that needle poised over my thigh (and I brought home the smallest length of IM needle available), and I just. Couldn't. Do. It.
Yep, chickened right out. Decided to use a small subcutaneous needle instead because I know I can do that. Well, apparently there's a damn good reason that ketorolac ISN'T labelled for SC usage, because it felt like my leg was going to fall off it hurt so badly, and to add insult to injury, it left me with this:
( OUCH )
Fortunately, however, it still WORKED well. Tonight, though, I'm going to have my husband shoot me instead of trying to do it myself.

My cat has decided that whenever I am at the computer, I require his assistance. When he's not crawling into my lap, puncturing my legs with his claws and trying his darndest to riddle my arms with love bites, he sits beside my keyboard, usually on top of the mouse, frequently stepping on the keyboard in order to assist me with typing. What a considerate cat.

Please excuse the messiness that is my desk. That's Spike, by the way.
