Best laid plans...

I was going to write tonight.  I've been living off the laptop, since my office looks like a hoarders episode right now and it's not a good place for computering.  I also have a ton of updates and such to do to my desktop and I just haven't gotten to it.  And so I get home tonight, plug the laptop in because the battery is low, only to find that the power cord is not working.  On further inspection, there are little teeth marks in the cord and I think one of my cats chewed on it.  Evidently while it was unplugged, as they are all fine.  So this means that the latest partly written chaptes for my WIP stories are on the laptop and completely inaccessable until I can get a new cord.  Hopefully one of the electronics stores around here carries them, because I don't want to have to wait to have one shipped.  Urg, this is so frusrating!
